publishing and e-commerce are one of them. |

for the Asian crisis has been pinned on many evil culprits:
naughty hedge-fund operators accused of manipulating currency
and stock market; foreign bankers guilty of profligate lending;
and Asian crony capitalists with business plans that amounted
to little more than getting into bed with officialdom.

new market is fairly flush with new books and experts
offering hasty explanations of the great Asian economic meltdown.
Most unfortunately, are hurriedly pulled together collections
of articles in edited volumes, some are half-cooked and half-Consultant.

few of them run counter to conventional wisdom. Some urges
Asian governments not to blindly submit to international guidelines
for capital ratios, nothing that many Asian banks now cannot
meet such benchmarks, and that there are better ways to help
banks recuperate, also private corporations. Some also disagrees
with the widely held view that foreign ownership is a great
way to get Asian banks up and running again.
