Where and How These Artifacts
& Coins Were Excavated
In
1983, when 80 acres were reclaimed where Mahkota Parade, Malacca
currently sited, tin monies and other artefacts were discovered
again (pictures taken in 1983, besides coins other artefacts were
also excavated).
- Since
early 1960s, Malacca tin monies were found in Kampung
Hulu.
- In
early 1970s, they were found at Laksamana Road, the current
premises of
Public Bank Berhad.
- Some
tin monies were found in Semabok area.
- In
1983, when 80 acres were reclaimed where Mahkota Parade
currently sited, tin monies and other artefacts were discovered
again.
- Again
with Pulau Malacca project more were found...
- It
proved that along the sea front locations were the trading
centres of the 15th century of Malacca. Pulau Besar (Big
Island) was also one of the trading points..
